ILA WALES - THE RULES

Ricide have many years experience of delivering vocational training in Information Technology to both new learners and people wishing to improve their IT skills.

We are pleased to be a registered provider of Individual Learning Account Wales (ILA Wales) funded training as this will enable us to bring our course offerings to a wider audience within Wales.

How can ILA Wales help a Learner ?
The aim of the ILA Wales programme, which is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, is to help those people who could benefit most from learning. The type of learning can be selected by the individual learner.

Will Learners be charged for a Course ?
If a course is priced at £200 or less, then the learning is provided at no cost to the Learner, provided that he/she is in receipt of an eligible means tested benefit. Alternatively, his/her partner may be claiming benefits.

Eligible Benefits are -

  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Council Tax Benefit

Your benefits will not be affected by enroling on any course funded by ILA Wales.

If you need help in deciding whether you are eligible, please ring us on Freephone 0800 783 9133.

What if a Learner is not receiving an eligible Benefit ?
Learners who are not receiving eligible benefits qualify for an award of up to £100 per annum provided that they do not have a qualification higher than Level 2.

Indicative Level 2 Qualifications are -

  • GCSE (Grade A to C)
  • NVQ Level 2

In other words, if a Learner has GCSE qualifications then he/she is eligible for an award of £100, but if he/she has A levels, then he/she is not eligible.

Please note that if the Learner or his/her partner is claiming an eligible benefit, then they will receive £200, regardless of their previous educational qualifications.

Disclaimer
Learners should note that all decisions concerning ILA Wales awards are made by the Welsh Assembly Government and not by ourselves. While we have tried to provide a full and correct statement of the rules, we cannot be held liable for a refusal by ILA Wales to fund a Learner at a specific award level.
